MENS ASSOCIATION EVENT RULES 2010
1. Association events will be played
in accordance with The Rules of Golf as adopted by the USGA.
2. Each participant must have an established, verifiable USGA
/ VSGA handicap.
3. Sign up sheets will be posted in
the clubhouse approximately two weeks prior to the scheduled
date of each event and removed no earlier than 5 pm on Thursday
prior to the event. Requests received after that time will
be placed on standby and notified if an opening becomes available.
4. Failure to participate in an event
for which you have signed up will result in forfeiture of
eligibility for the next association event unless there are
unusual circumstances as determined by the Executive Committee.
5. Tournaments will be flighted by
tees, Blue, White and Gold, unless otherwise stated in tournament
rules.
6. Tees played:
Blue Tees will be played by
players age 54 and below.
White Tees will be played by
players age 55 to 64.
Gold Tees will be played by
players age 65 and above
.
Players have the right to play up to the next set of tees,
meaning that a player that is eligible to play the gold tees
by his age, may elect to play the white tees, and the same
for a player on the white tees, he may elect to play the blue
tees. If a player elects to play up to the next tees, he will
receive his handicap from that set of tees.
7. To qualify to play at the Jefferson
Lakeside Tournament, players will be required to play in (1)
association event before the Jefferson Lakeside quailing event
in 2010, and play in (5) events before the 2011 Jefferson
Lakeside qualifying tournament
8. Stroke holes will be determined
by the handicap committee prior to each event requiring a
“net” score, using each players USGA handicap
index and the slope and rating for tees being played that
day.
9. First place ties will be decided by playoff, all others
by match of cards in the following order. Back nine score,
last six hole score, last three hole score, score at eighteen.
In the event a tie remains, front nine score followed, by
first six hole score, first three hole score and score at
hole number one will be used to determine a winner.
10. Start times will be computer assigned
for each event and request that players be at the course a
minimum of 30 minutes before their tee time.
